Bangkok population 9 million, It is large city spread on area of 1500 km2 is all year destination, Nov to march is peak season. March - June hot, July- Oct rain, Nov- Feb cool, 17 million tourist visit annually. Has 34 large malls and 30 large Super markets.

Airport Transfer: The Suvarnabhumi Airport to city Rail Link is 28.6 km journey takes 30 minutes (45 Baht) from 06.00 am to midnight every 15 minutes to Phaya Thai BTS station

Rabbit travel cards: 100 bhat onwards (30 Bhat issueing fee) card valid for 5 years or 1 day travel card for 140 Thai Bhat,

Hua Lamphong MRT station or Ratchawong Pier (Chao Phraya Express Boat on the river): Chinatown bustling and packed with stalls and shrines. You can visit the world’s largest gold Buddha at Wat Traimit or Chinese-style structures like Wat Mangkon Kamalawat  or China Gate. Areas in Chinatown are Yaowarat Road for excellent street food, and Sampang Lane for great bargain-hunting. 
Surasak and Saphan Taksin BTS for Sathorn neighbourhood stretches from Lumpini Park to the Chao Phraya River.
Nana (Arab Soi) 
Sukhumvit BTS and Asok MRT station: malls such as Terminal 21, Emporium Shopping Mall and EmQuartier. Nearby Samutprakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo.

Central Pier (Sathorn Pier) and is located nearby the BTS Station Saphan Taksin. 5 Floating markets in Bangkok: Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is located around 30-40 minutes from Bangkok in the Ratchaburi province-  half day tour from my hostel for under $25. Amphawa Floating Market is 50 km from Bangkok, Talin Chan Floating Market- BTS to Wongwian Yai Station then taxi. Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market- 20km from BTS Wongwian Yai, Bang Nam Pheung Floating Market.

Top Night Markets (Rot Fai): Rot Fai Market Srinakarin behind Seacon Square Shopping Mall- BTS to On Nut Station first, then taxi, Rot Fai Market in the Ratchada- MRT Cultural Centre, Rot Fai Market Ratchada, (1250 stalls) MRT Cultural Centre- next to Esplande mall and (Art in Paradise), JJ Green Night Market- Thursday to Sunday evening, from 17:00 to 24:00- BTS at Mo Chit or the MRT at Chatuchak and walk up Kamphaeng Phet Road. Asiatique by shuttle boat from BTS Saphan Taksin. 

Weekend market: Saturdays and Sundays, 09:00 - 18:00, and Fridays 18:00 - 24:00.

Pattaya is 150km, under 3 hours by bus from Bangkok Eastern Bus Terminal, Ekami BTS station. Buses run from 5.30 am to 11 pm every 30 minutes, cost 112 Baht. Other option is from Suvarnabhumi Airport bus to Pattaya, 2 hours 120 Baht.

Jomtien Beach : is 6km sandy beach, 2km from Pattaya. Bhat buses (Songthaew) operate between two and it cost 10 Baht each way. Bhat buses keep on going in circle from Pattaya beach to Jomtien beach and operate as hop on by showing hand. Jomtien to Pattays is 30 minutes journey.

Taxi: Flagfall rate for a standard taxi is 2MYR for the first kilometre then 10 sen for each additional 200 meters according to the meter. Uber is also available.

Sightseeing in Kuala Lumpur city: 
KL Sentral station- is main central area. It has main station on ground level of Nu Sentral shopping mall, Intercity trains, metro (LRT/MRT), Monorail Junction as well as bus station.for Airport transfer and Genting Highlands. Brickfields also known as Little India is just beside KLSentral. Lake Garden is also nearby to go by taxi RM10. It is 92 hectors park with lake as well as National mosquePlanetarium NegaraOrchid Farm, Deer Park, National monument.
Masjid Jamek station- Jamek Mosque, Moorish, British, Malaysian style building/ historical district, Dataran Merdeka (Independence sqaure), Royal selnagor club (Colonial social club) & Sultan Abd Samad building (British colonial administration office). Other side of Masjid Jamek is busy market area for gifts and souvenirs. India Masjid and little further is Lulu Hypermarket in Jakel Mall and Sogo SupermarketMydin Supermarket are in same area. 
Pasar Seni station- is close to Kasturi walk, Central Market, Petaling street a bargain hunter paradise, market open till late at night and China Town.
Imbi station: Berjaya shopping mall which has indoor theme park/ rides also nearby Berjaya time square. Also Low Yat six story mall dedicated to electronics with over 500 shops.
Bukit Bintang stop takes to Jalon Alor, Night food outlets, also Lot 10 shopping mall. Also Pavillion KL. 
KLCC station - on Green line for Petronas Twin Towers, Surya KLCCGround level, Bubble lift, Mall walkway (5 minutes) to KLCC Park 50 acre park. Suria KLCC and KL Aquaria RM69.

Titiwangsa Monorail Station is a five minute taxi ride RM8, Taman Tasik Park with lake and petronas in backdrop. 
Wangsa Maju station for Negara zoo, entrance RM63. It is 3 km from station so taxi or Rapid KL bus 253.
Batu Caves: KL Sentral by KTM Komuter Train, Fare RM2 train, 30 minutes journey. Sentual direction train.

Night Markets: In Malay Pasar = "market" , Malam = "night" 
Bandar Tasik Selatan (BTS) from station 3km is Jalan Cerdas at Taman Connaught Wednesday Night Market. Taxi from BTS RM5. 400 stalls everyday from 10pm to 4 am eeryday.
Kampung Baru station has Saturday night market on Jalon Raja Muda Musa, open till past midnight.
Cheras station for Night Market and Cheras Mall. Also Connaught Market Centre (Carrefour Hypermarket)  
Masjid Jamek station- Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman also known as Janal TAR has Saturday Night Market
Bangsar Station: There is Bangsar village Shopping Mall and Sunday Night Market 
Chow Kit station is market area for locals to shop for clothing, wet produce etc.
Mid Valley station: Asia’s largest Mega mallMidvalley.

Putrajaya station: On route to airport, E1 Bus from KL Sentral (RM4) (Train RM10- 17 minutes, Modern architect, beautiful mosque.

North of Kuala Lumpur:
Langkawi islandFlight from KL (1 hour), or Ferry from Penang.
Sightseeing: Sky bridge on hillsEagle square, cable car, underwater world, Bird paradise, Marine parkBeaches. Langkawi's main town is Kuah.
Penang island: George Town, (Population 200,000) is 350km from KL. Island with good beaches. Butterworth to Georgetown by ferry. Butterworth train from KL takes 5 hrs
Sightseeing: Penaag hill (altitude 2500ft), Adventure park,Chew jetty, , Beaches.
Penang Langkawi ferry, 3hrs, 70 RM. KL Langkawi flight (Air Asia), 1 hour. Pennag to Langkawi 3 hours ferry (www.langkawi-ferry.com) or Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi flight. 
Pangkor Island is 25 minutes ride by ferry from Lumut to Pangkor island. Lumut: is coastal town, 245km from KL, 27RM, 4 hours. Train from KL to 'Perak' and bus to Lumut or direct buses from KL Pudraya bus station. 
Cameron Hights: 205km from KL, 3.5 hrs, RM35, 3,700ft. With good roads day trip from KL is possible. Sightseeing- Tea plantation, butterfly garden, Museum, strawberry farms. Ipoh: is 200 km from KL, 2.3 hrs. From here buses to Cameron hights.
Kuala Selangor: Beach city, 68 km, Bus 141 from Medan Pasar KL
Klang: distance is 42 km from KL, direct buses (Port Klang further 10km where cruise boats come)
Genting Highlands: Altitude 6k feet, Indoor resort with casinos, arcade and restaurants above clouds. Bus from Sentral RM5,1 hour journey, plus Cable car ride RM8. (It is all indoor at top, so only good scenic journey on way and back rest all commercial exploitation)

South of Kuala Lumpur: 
Port Dickson: Local beach 70km from kl in South, Train from KL Sentral to 'Seremban' from there bus to PD waterfront, Train and bus fare around RM 7, 45 minutes journey. Once in Port Dickson, you can get any of the local buses that travels the coastline route. PD beaches... PD tour...  Primeland waterpark, 
Malacca: KL Sentral bus depot to Bandar Tasik Selaan (BTS) bus terminal RM4, 2 hours,
Sightseeing- Afamosa fort, Jonker street, Christ chuch, Stadthuys, St Paul’s church, Butterfly sanctuary, Sultanate palace, Taming Sari tower, Heritage museum, Cultural park. Melacca river cruise, River walk.
Johor Bharu is 325km, 4 hours by bus, 33RM, (25km from Singapore). Kukup is seaside town, 55 km, in Johor Bharu region. Malacca is 187km.

East Coast cities
Kauntan to KL by bus is 3.30 hours, 25RM, 

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) Singapore (315km) Bus: 5 hours RM45, Bus companies- Grassland, Aeroline, First coach, www.busonlineticket.com, www.singaporemalaysiabus.com, or 7 hour train from Singapore Woodlands costing £7 or 1 hour flight.

Singapore *: City of Gardens
Singapore, is small Island country 716Kmsmaller than New York, Dubai, Mumbai and many cities of world. Population is 5m, 17 million tourist visit annually. 1S$= Rs 50, Got independence from British with Malaysia in 1957, later in 1965 Sigapore became as Independent country.


Singapore has no debt and has truely developed in past 50 years. Economy is based on manufacturing 25%, tourism,  financial services, cargo.


By air, Changi International Airport is connected to 380 cities in 90 countries. It handles more than 1,000 daily flights to 350 cities transporting 65 million passengers annually and cargo worldwide. 


By sea, the Singapore port gives shippers a choice of over 200 shipping lines and access to some 600 ports in 123 countries. At any one time, there can be as many as 1,000 ships docked at the Singapore port, which makes it the busiest container port in the world.

There are presently 119 foreign commercial banks in Singapore, of which 28 are Full banks, 54 are Wholesale banks, and 37 are Offshore Banks.

There are 103 malls in Singapore and over 100 Hawkwers centres: These are 'open food courts' and each centre consist of 250 approx food outlets and with seating for 4000 people. Many open until late night. (Hawkers were regularised by opening hawker centres so that hygiene can be maintained).


Singapore has 350 parks and 4 nature reserves.

There are 1 hour flights (£35) from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) OR 
5 hours by bus costing £15 Bus companies. 2 hours flight to Jakarta and 3 hours flight to Bali, Indonesia

Changi Airport: Food courts, Cactus garden and swimming pool in T1, Sunflower and orchid garden in T2, Butterfly garden and Koi pond, Singapore food street in T3. Take internal tram from T2 and T3 which passes through Jewel. Terminals are connected by sky train from inside immigration area and outside too.

Once out of immigration area visit Jewel which is connected directly to the Arrival Hall of Terminal 1. Jewel is Mall, gardens and 130ft waterfall with light shows at 7.30pm, 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm and 11.30pm.


Little India MRT: shops, Mustufa centre 24 hours mall, Tekka (Food) Centre. Located north of the Singapore River.

Farrer Park MRT: Mustafa centreTakashimoya shopping mall and food court.

Newton MRT: Newton Hawkers centre,

Orchards Road MRT: Orchard road shopping street, ION Mall on Orchard Road,with food court and on 55 floor between 3 pm to 6 pm city viewing is free. There is Daiso 2S$ in Ion mall. Food Republic food court at Visma Atria, Food Opera, Nearby Dempsy hill. 

Dhoby Ghaut MRT: Museum, Malls, Colonial district and singapore river

Botanic Gardens MRT: Free entry. Orchid garden in Botanical garden has small fee, Dempsey hills nearby. 

Chinese garden MRT is park with free entry.

Lakeside MRT for Jurong Lakeside garden.

Boon Lay MRT: take bus  No. 194 or taxi to Jurong Bird Park 

Marsiling MRT for Marsiling park.

Woodlands MRT for Woodlands Waterfront park. Take bus No. 856 or taxi from Woodlands MRT.

Chinatown MRT: Chinatown food complex hawker centre (260 stalls) and Eating street in chinatown, Maxwell hawker centre, Thian Hock Keng Temple. It is close to Central business district. Several MRT stations for Chinatown MRT Station, Telok Ayer MRT Station, Outram Park MRT Station, Tanjong Pagar MRT Station, and Raffles Place MRT Station are close to Chinatown

Outram Park MRT is walking distance from China Town MRT. Pinnacle @Duxton 50th floor Sky bridge ticket ₹250. Amoy street food centre.

Tiong Bahru MRT: Tiong Bahru market hawker centre (4000 seating),

Bugis MRT: Junction mall, village, Arab street, Sultan mosque, Haji Lane really comes alive in the evenings with live music gigs. Bugis street Market, Maxwell road hawkers center (100 stalls),

Fort canning MRT to Espalane MRT is all historical clonial district. Taman Fort Canning Park, National museum.

Clark Quay MRT: River side walk. Restaurants etc. Area in-between the old Colonial District and the Central Business District lies Clark and Boat Quay where abandoned warehouses transferred in to restaurants by river. area is well lit at night. Boat rides from Clarke Quay  to Merlion Park.

Raffles Place MRT: historic/ colonial area, Merlion park by Fullerton Hotel, marina bay sands light spectra show can be seen across bay. (8 pm and 9 pm) and merlion park light show too. Esplande theater with free shows at night is nearby. There are 5 Merlion in Singapore. Also Lau Pa Sat hawker centre (also known as Telok Ayer Market) is nearby.


Bayfront MRT: Marina bay sands hotel with Free Spectra light and sound show (8 pm and 9 pm and on friday and saturday also at 10pm)Sky park marina bay sands 56th floor observation deck, Marina bay sands mallSingapore wheelSingapore food treats beneath wheel. Gardens by the bay free entry, exit B and short walk. South garden by dome. From Bay South Garden, take a leisure 5-minute walk from Marina Barrage to Bay East Garden. Cloud forest dome with water fall, forest walk, Flower dome. To avoid queue best to purchase ticket online in advance for Cloud forest & flower dome.

Marina Bay station: 

For Singapore Zoo: From Ang Mo Kang (AMK) area in north take bus 138 or taxi to zoo. or Choa Chu Kang MRT Station bus 927 / taxi or Mandai Express from Khatib MRT station to Zoo in 15 minutes. Singapore zoo, River safari, Night Safari. To avoid ques best to purchase tickets online.

East coast park and 15km beach. From Bedok MRT station take a bus 401 or taxi on weekends which will take you directly to East Coast Park and during the week hop on the 197 to Marine Parade Road outside Parkway Parade and walk through the underpass. 

Changi beach park from Tanah Merah MRT station take #2 bus or taxi heading east to Changi Beach.

For Sentosa Island: Harbour front MRT, make your way to Level 3 of Vivocity mall, where you'll find the Sentosa Express monorail to the island. Or Cable car from Mount faber which is 1.1km from MRT or Santosa broadwalk (600m 10 min) from outside Vivo city mall from Harbour Front MRT Station. SEA Aquarium, Universal Studios, Mount Faber Cable Car, Megazip, Wave House, Adventure Cove Waterpark, Dolphin show, Madame Tussauds are at Sentosa island,

Hong Kong is split in two areas as Hong Kong Island and across Victoria Harbour Kowloon area. Hong Kong Island is the heart of city like Manhattan in New York. Packed with some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world it's this cluster of buildings that has made images of Hong Kong famous around the world. Lan Kwai FongWan Chai and Soho are busy areas. Kowloon is still very much downtown of Hong Kong. Areas such as Mongkok and Jordan has best markets, Michelin Stars street food. The heart of Kowloon is Tsim Sha Tsui, where there are hotels, the biggest shopping malls and the best museums. The two parts of Hong Kong are well connected by several MTR connections as well as the Star Ferry. Hong Kong is close to Pearl River Delta (PRD) of China in Guangdong province, with 9 exiting cities namely:
Shenzhen is nearest to Hong Kong and my metro (HK$38) can be reached in 3 hours. 
Guangzhou (the provincial capital, 2 hours by train from Shenzhen),
Dongguan is 1 hour by train and two hours by bus from Hong Kong. From here Shenzhen in 30 minutes and Guanghou in 45 minutes by train. 

Macau was Portuguese territory until 1999 and also referred as Las Vegas of Asia,
